About

My name is Jason Desrosiers. I'm an open source developer, consultant, and JSON Schema TSC member. This company is a sole proprietorship and always will be. It serves a legal entity for me to do consulting work and is the legal owner of my open source projects.

JSON Schema

Most of my work revolves around the web and Hypermedia APIs with JSON Schema and JSON Hyper-Schema as a common theme. I'm a member of the Technical Steering Committee (TSC) for JSON Schema and had the opportunity to work full time on the JSON Schema specification and tooling for two years. My main focus during that time was working toward a stable release of JSON Schema. However, now I'm in need of sponsors to continue that work.

As the author and maintainer of the @hyperjump/json-schema validator, I have created an implementation that is widely regarded as a trusted reference for understanding and verifying correct behavior in complex scenarios.

Open Source

I maintain a variety of open source tools, mostly related to JSON Schema. My JSON Schema implementation serves as both a production-ready validator as well as a laboratory for exploring new JSON Schema keywords, features, and concepts. I'm currently working on a JSON Schema language server to help developers write JSON Schema faster, safer, and happier.

Consulting Services

My heart lies with open source, but I also enjoy taking consulting work on occasion. I specialize in embedding with teams to help them learn new skills through pair/mob programming and the occasional workshop. I'm an expert in Test Driven Development (TDD) and can help your team learn and reap the rewards of this seemingly counterintuitive practice. I also teach a variety of skills related to good coding practices including refactoring, design patterns, architectural styles, development/delivery methodologies and more. But, just knowing these skills isn't enough. Knowing when and where to apply each skill is the real skill we need to develop. That's why I like embedding with developers to guide them in developing that skill. I'm also one of the world's leading experts in JSON Schema, so if you have need for consulting or training related to JSON Schema, I can help with that too.
